Elderberries

Elder- Sambucus caerulea; (Caprifoliaceae)

The purple-black berries of the Elder shrub contains three or four round seeds, maturing in September and October and are often made into preserves etc. The odor is faintly sweet, aromatic; the taste is slightly bitter.
